Criollo cocoa is considered "the king of cocoa" because it is the oldest, non-hybrid variety, producing high-grade beans with fine flavours and aromas.

To obtain cocoa nibs, the beans are processed under conditions of low fermentation, low temperature and without roasting, using specific methods to maintain their natural purity and hygiene so that they can be consumed directly.

Part used: cocoa nibs (they are part of the seed contained in the berries and are composed of pure cocoa. Only in this raw form can their purity and nutritional content be guaranteed).

• Cocoa nibs are rich in minerals, especially iron, magnesium and sulphur (the beauty mineral), and antioxidants (such as phenols).

Recommended use

It can be eaten as a snack, added to muesli, smoothies, acai bowls, yoghurt and used as an ingredient in baking (chocolate).

Please note: Criollo cocoa should not be consumed by people with allergies to cocoa derivatives, constipation, acne, severe hypercholesterolaemia and kidney problems (due to its high oxalic acid content, which can lead to kidney stones).

Storage: Store in closed containers at room temperature, protected from direct light, in dry and clean conditions. It can be stored for up to 24 months in its original sealed packaging.

Certified organic. Suitable for coeliacs, as it is a gluten-free product.
