How to use

We recommend soaking overnight. Then cook with 2 parts water to 1 part rice for 45 minutes.

Storage

Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from light.

Recipe

Warm brown rice salad with vegetables and chickpeas

Ingredients:

  • 150 g El Granero brown rice
  • 1 carrot, 1 courgette, 1 red pepper, 1 tin of cooked chickpeas (240 g drained)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Salt, pepper, fresh parsley to taste

Preparation:

  1. Soak the rice the night before.
  2. Cook: 150 g rice + 300 ml water, covered, for 45 min. Drain and cool slightly.
  3. Sauté in a frying pan: diced carrot and courgette, then pepper; add the chickpeas. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Mix everything with the rice, dress with oil, lemon and parsley. Serve warm or cold.

Variations: Add nuts, seeds, herbs or vegan feta cheese for more flavour and texture.
